Acre Designs Review
Based on our inability to get in touch with Acre Designs and multiple comments from readers, we believe that Acre Designs is not operational or at the very least not accepting new clients at the moment. Once we learn more, we will update our review to accurately reflect Acre Designs' status.
Acre Designs is a prefab home builder, based out of the San Francisco Bay Area that makes ultra-modern net-zero homes. A net-zero home is a home that produces as much energy as it consumes. All new residential construction in California actually has to be net-zero by 2020 by law. Acre achieves this by using highly insulated SIPs (structural insulated panels) and having a 5-10 volt solar energy system on the roof.
Acre Homes come with a variety of modern technology. These include smart locks, appliances, and climate control systems as well as optional add-ons like a power wall and EV vehicle charging. Acre, currently has two designs (a one story and a two story home) that each come in a variety of sizes from two bedroom to five bedroom homes.
Process-size, Acre designs the home and build the components, but a local builder will build your foundation and construct the home on site.
Strengths:
Net zero - theoretically no energy bills
Very modern throughout
Nice aesthetically
Reasons they might not be for you:
You don’t live in California
You want a small home - Acre’s smallest home is 1200 sqft
