Harry Vine Homes is a prefab home builder with headquarters in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. For projects local to the Pittsburgh area (up to 60 miles from the city), they can serve as a turn-key provider - offering project management services, home manufacturing, and module install. For projects beyond that area, though still within their service range (currently Pennsylvania), they serve as the home manufacturer and ship models in a nearly complete state of finish.

Currently Harry Vine Homes offers one product line, with a single floor plan. This 600 square foot unit can be used either as a smaller home or an ADU. It is designed with 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, an open living area/kitchen, and optional decks. Stylistically, their home features a clean, modern design with a shed roof and painted fiber cement siding.

On the interior, homes are shipped fully complete. This includes stainless steel appliances, butcher block countertops, cabinetry, a tankless water heater, and LED lighting. It is worth noting that as a way of reducing lead times and home cost, Harry Vine Homes offers buyers few customization options. All of their homes include standard finishes with the option to personalize the home’s exterior color, add decks, and add an entryway privacy screen. By limiting the number of personalization options available, they are able to reduce the lead time from deposit to home delivery to around 6 weeks.

Logistically, it is worth noting that Harry Vine Homes is a turn-key builder for projects in the Pittsburgh area. This means that they can handle all elements of the project including site prep, manufacturing, and module installation. For projects in Pennsylvania but further than 60 miles away from Pittsburgh, a local contractor is needed to assist with site preparation and home installation. And for projects located outside of Pennsylvania, Harry Vine Homes may consider expanding their service range as they move ahead with their operations.

Strengths:

  • Offer a high-end home at a competitive price

  • From deposit to delivery, the lead time is 6 weeks (at the time of writing -  December, 2023)

Reasons they might not be for you:

  • You are located outside of Pennsylvania

  • You are looking for options to customize your home

  • You are looking for a larger home - their only floor plan is 600 square feet
