SmartPads is a Steamboat Springs, CO-based designer and builder of modular homes. SmartPads currently offers 14 styles of pre-designed modular homes and ADUs, with existing floor plans ranging from 432 square feet to 5,000+ square feet. For buyers looking for something more customized to their lot, they can either modify an existing plan or work with SmartPads in-house design team to create a fully-custom house. In addition to their single-family home offerings, SmartPads can also work on multi-family projects.
In terms of style, their homes often feature smart, modern designs with a heavy influence of alpine architecture . Homes usually have large windows; metal roofs; steel accents; glass doors; plus sleek wood, fiber, or corrugated metal siding. Inside, homes include high-end design elements like hardwood flooring, sliding glass doors, and stone countertops. Their homes also come with fixtures, efficient stainless steel appliances, range hoods, and even upgrades like electric fireplaces.
From a process standpoint, homes are built indoors at their manufacturing facility in Vernal, Utah, in as little as 2 months for some of their smaller, pre-designed homes. For larger or custom projects, the entire construction process typically ranges from 4-6 months. Once the modules are built, they are delivered to the final build, and depending on the project can arrive up to 95% complete. The modules are then set, stitched, and finished. As they do not provide GC services, buyers have to work with a third-party contractor for site work and finishing the home.
