Sierra Tiny Houses is a designer and builder of tiny homes with headquarters in Northern California and Northern Nevada. They currently offer 4 styles of mobile tiny homes which range in size from 192 square feet to 224 square feet, with full customization available. In terms of design, Sierra’s tiny homes have either a contemporary ranch or cottage style. Exteriors often feature flat or gable metal seam roofs, inset entryways, lots of windows, plus tongue and groove cedar siding with cedar shake shingles. Home interiors usually include butcher block countertops, bamboo flooring, tongue and groove pine or shiplap walls, storage stairways, lots of sleeping areas, and appliances like refrigerators, water heaters, BTU mini-split heating/AC, and even microwaves. For buyers interested in a DIY project, Sierra Tiny Homes sells trailers, steel frames, tiny home kits, and even structural shells. In addition to their standard propane cooktops, other off-grid upgrades like composting toilets are also available.
While their founder has experience building modular homes, Sierra currently only has tiny homes on wheels (THOW) available, with no permanent foundation options. After the buyer has settled on a design, the tiny home is built in one of Sierra’s west coast facilities and once finished, homes are shipped to buyers anywhere in the United States. Homes arrive complete and RV certified, only requiring some simple utility hookups before buyers can move in.
