They specialize in building both communities of move-in ready homes which they sell individually (with land included), or build an individual home in the buyer’s preferred location. In case of the latter, they can build on a customer’s own piece of land, build on a lot within DJK Custom Homes’ portfolio of land, or help buyers identify and purchase a plot of land.
Stylistically their homes span both modern and traditional architecture. In their current portfolio of over 60 pre-designed homes, their work features modern farmhouse, cottage, Capes, Colonials, and contemporary design. It is worth mentioning that they can even work with buyers to develop a fully custom home. DJK Custom Homes also offers a line of luxury homes complete with finishes such as walk-in closets, spiral staircases, woodwork finishes, and vaulted ceilings.
From a process standpoint, interested individuals can begin by speaking with a DJK sales representative or visiting one of their model homes in Naperville or Plainfield. From there, they can work with the DJK team to determine a realistic budget and then select and modify an existing floor plan or work to create a custom design from scratch. Additionally, buyers can begin to decide which optional upgrades they may want to include in their design.
Once the ideation phase is complete, DJK Custom Homes will complete a project proposal. If the design is agreed upon, the home will begin to be engineered on paper and permits will be applied for, all while DJK helps buyers through the financing process. Once buyers’ financing is approved and the home is permitted for construction, the build phase can begin. From start to finish, the entire process typically lasts 10-12 months.
In addition to new home construction, DJK homes also offers several services. For example, they build Multi-Family housing units as well as commercial spaces as part of their commercial development operations. Aside from that, they also offer home renovation services (both interior and exterior).
